Busy little person
Cutie has not really done anything new recently, but she is still just as fun and cute and sweet (and busy and exhausting!) as ever. She has started asserting her preferences and independence more regularly by touching things she knows she is not allowed to touch (usualy an electric outlet); by refusing to eat certain foods she used to eat; and by pushing away a book she doesn't want to read and either pointing to a different book she wants to read instead, or crawling out of my lap after only a couple of pages to go play with something else. Her attention span seems to be shorter than it used to be, and I'm guessing that's because she enjoys being mobile so much. She can crawl very fast, and can push her walker all the way around our living room and into a bedroom, as long as we help her navigate turns, and as long as she doesn't get distracted along the way by another toy she wants to play with.
This week's activities included making some new purchases, including her first ball, which she loves (can you believe she didn't have one yet?); her first pair of sunglasses (which she pulls off immediately); a new dress for Easter and summer weddings (notice her standing on her tiptoes--she always stands and walks like this, just like her mommy did!); and some new hairbows in different sizes and colors--her hair is finally getting longer and thick enough for at least the small ones to stay in. We have also enjoyed lots of temperate, sunny weather, so she got to go on several walks, swing, slide, and help Mommy and Daddy rake leaves and pull weeds.
FYI: The formatting on this post did not turn out the way I intended...I wanted to have the pictures and text more integrated...but I didn't want to take the time to redo everything.
